Lily Tomlin initially rose to prominence in the entertainment world as a stand-up comedian in the 1960s. Her talent later garnered her numerous awards for her work in television, film, and on Broadway. Tomlin has also been a significant icon within the LGBTQ community for many decades. One particularly cherished memory for Tomlin dates back to 1971.
It was during this year that she met writer and her future wife, Jane Wagner, after inviting Wagner to collaborate with her on an LP record album titled “And That’s The Truth.” Since their initial meeting, the two have been in a committed relationship, although they did not make any formal coming-out announcements. They eventually tied the knot in December 2013.
